Peter Potty Toddler Urinal: Now Toddler Pee Standing Up
I’ll admit we never had one in this family, even with two boys learning to potty train, but every time I see one, they are truly impressive. The Peter Potty Toddler Urinal is exactly that – a urinal built especially for toddlers. The Peter Potty is an intriguing blend of white plastic accented with blue and green. The urinal includes a water reservoir that actually flushes down into the urinal to help with clean-up.

The urinal can attach directly to the wall or it can be used on the stand that is included. The height of the urinal is adjustable as well to help as your child grows. The low height of the urinal is by far the best benefit, however, as the urinal can accommodate younger, shorter trainees than the traditional potty. You don’t need a stool or a can of cleaning wipes for use with the potty, it would seem – toddlers can walk right up to it and take care of their business easily. Then they can flush the urinal and all waste collects in the bucket at the base of the urinal.
Benefits of the Urinal
The Peter Potty Toddler Urinal might be one of the oddest things parents have seen, but it seems to be functional. It flushes, it’s a simple design and it can be mounted to the wall to prevent accidents of all kinds. Little boys can learn to go potty standing up in the same way that Dad and Big Brother do without having to make the transition from sitting to standing as they usually do in traditional potty training. That makes one less thing to have to cover during training.
According to user reports, the urinal is also inspiration to toddler boys. They are intrigued by it and want to give it a try. This would seem to make potty training go much more smoothing and easily. User participation is always critical in these sorts of things.
Drawbacks of the Urinal
One glaring problem of the urinal is that is might simplify peeing in the potty, but it certainly doesn’t simplify pooping. If anything it confuses little boys even more to have options available, or what seems like options. They are to stand for one thing, but sit for another, this can certainly be a basis for confusion amount some.
The urinal is also a big bulky and cumbersome to store. This is easy to overcome if you have the intent of mounting it on the wall for a few years during the toddler and young years, but it will take up wall and floor space and you’ll need to plan for that.
Peter Potty Toddler Urinal is available through certain baby retailers starting around $40.

I laughed so hard when I saw this. I am a Mom of 3 boys of which one is potty trained. Now days there are so many “things” that you can buy for your kids that you may or may not need. I actually think this might be a good idea in our house (one bathroom – 2 adults and 4 children) so I see the benefits. I figure I will grab it the next time I see it on sale if for no other reason to free up the potty for me when I need it.
