Baby Trend Sit ‘N Stand Stroller
I’ll admit that I feel intense jealousy when I look at moms of two pushing the newest version of baby strollers around. The “Sit and Stand” concept came about a year too late for my two little ones, but I would have been absolutely awesome to have. In fact, having examined these strollers, they would have been a shoe-in for a double stroller if you have a toddler and a newborn as many parents do.
The Sit and Stand Concept
Baby Trend seems to be the manufacturer of the most affordable and practical sit and stand stroller concept. With high reviews for safety in their other products, including infant car seats which work with this system, it is a solid choice.
To use a sit and stand stroller, the baby sits in the front of the stroller. There is an area for the infant seat to latch in, much like the infant seat latches into a traditional travel system. But with a sit and stand system, the stroller is a bit longer and has a seat directly under the handles. The seat is more of a perch that has a seat belt and is perfect for toddlers to ride. As your toddler grows older, he also has the option to simply stand on the platform under the seat and catch a ride on the stroller when he needs a break from walking.
The Baby Trend Sit ‘N Stand strollers also have the elements a parent needs such as cup holders, item trays, and a large basket for all the diaper bags and other goodies that are included in the daily life of young children and their parents. The Baby Trend Sit ‘N Stand stroller also closes with a one-hand system making it easy to fold down and toss into the car while wrestling two small children.
The Appeal of the Baby Trend Sit ‘N Stand Stroller
A Sit ‘N Stand stroller makes it simple to take two children at two developmental levels out and about. Many umbrella double strollers can’t hold a newborn baby. And traditional double strollers that will hold the car seat have two full seats making them enormous to handle and hard to fit into a trunk.
The Sit ‘N Stand stroller doesn’t have a full seat for the toddler, but rather a perch for sitting. It allows the older child ability to hop up and down from the stroller as you go giving him the freedom he needs while offering him a way to rest without a full stroller system. The Baby Trend Sit ‘N Stand system advertises that it will hold up to 80 pounds on the seat for older children, so you can realistically carry your elementary child around the theme park while also pushing your baby comfortably. This eliminates the need for two strollers and makes travel – both locally and not – simple.
The Downside of the Sit ‘N Stand Stroller
Because the Sit ‘N Stand strollers are so compact, it can be hard to fit the giant bags and items necessary for two young children into the basket at the bottom of the stroller. In fact, to grab baby a toy from the bag, you might have to ask toddler to move. In the grand scheme of things, this is a small price to pay, however.
Another concern for some parents is that the young baby is the farthest from the parent pushing the stroller. But with the infant seat attached, you can still see into her seat to check on her progress as she rides facing back. When baby transitions to a seated position, she will be riding forward and will be a bit harder to see, much like any other stroller, but with the added disadvantage of a tall preschooler blocking your view.
Buying a Baby Trend Sit ‘N Stand Stroller
The Baby Trend Sit ‘N Stand strollers start around $130 and are available through baby retailers.

The idea is great but I will have to admit it is longer, heavier and I wish it collapsed into a smaller package. They are great at the zoo when you have room but not the best for a trip to the Mall…
We actually have two strollers – one for shopping and a sit-n-stand version. Normally I would never buy two but we were given one as a gift. For us works great when we are at the aquarium since one of the kids always wants to ride around but I agree they are a bit bulky when shopping.
I don’t have this stroller but I want it. I have had 9 strollers already and my husband might make me live in this one if I buy it! LOL!! He’s got me beat though, his obsession is with classic cars – much more expensive and harder to store!!
My kids are 2 and 4 now, this would be perfect! I’m still using my old Combi double stroller (for trips to the mall) and my FABULOUS Baby Jogger City Series for long walks around the neighborhood!
